Charlie Hemmeline
Charlie Hemmeline is the Deputy Director of Market Transformation for the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Program. For the past three years, Mr. Hemmeline has helped design and implement the portfolio of non-R&D activities associated with the Department's Solar America Initiative (SAI). The goal of the SAI is to make electricity from solar photovoltaics cost-competitive with grid electricity by 2015. The SAI Market Transformation activities focus on reducing the barriers to wide-scale solar adoption, and include new efforts in codes and standards, outreach to State and utility decision makers, and the Solar America Cities partnership program. Mr. Hemmeline holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a Master's of Public Administration from Texas A&M University.
