David Smith

David Smith is President and Owner of SunWorks Solar Systems, Inc. His role as vision caster has lead this 36 year-old company to record heights. His partnership with Mike Newman and Energy Labs, a manufacturer of leading-edge solar water heaters, allows him to pioneer new energy-savings territory and technology. In 2002, David acquired and developed Solar Energy, Inc. into an international network providing products, training and business development for solar installers around the globe. He continues to host the Solar University at the headquarters of SunWorks Solar in Jacksonville, FL.

David attended the Executive MBA Program at University of Miami after receiving his BS in Environmental Biology and Marine Sciences. He launched his career at Florida Filters, a custom manufacturer of air filters, rising through the ranks to eventually acquire the company, quadrupling revenues under his leadership. After selling the company, he stayed on board to take it national.

David Smith focuses the majority of his business brilliance and solar passion on SunWorks Solar. His mission is to encourage more businesses, municipalities and homeowners to “go solar.”
