Katie Porta
Katie Porta was elected president of the Orlando Utilities Commision governing board in January 2008. She has served on the five-member board, which is responsible for setting the rates and operating policies for the second largest municipal utility in Florida, since 2003. OUC serves more than 254,000 electric and water customers in Orange and Osceola counties.
For more than 26 years, Porta has served as president and CEO of Quest Inc., which provides services to individuals with disabilities and is one of Central Florida's oldest and largest nonprofit organizations. She also serves as president of the board of the Nonprofit Housing Roundtable of Central Florida, whose mission is to increase the supply of decent affordable housing, and is a member of the CSI Board, which serves the developmentally disabled and seniors.
