Workshop
The Bridges: Sustainable Community Design (1 AICP CM awarded)
This workshop will explore the components of green developments using The Bridges as a model. The Bridges is designed to meet the Florida Green Building Coalition’s “Green Development” standards, including “green roofs”, rainwater reuse, low impact design, green utilities practices, a walkable community design, alternative energy, and educational information to promote green living practices. It is designed to be an exemplary model of sustainable development with a diversity of income, housing and employment opportunities to create an inclusive community that is replicable with an overriding environmentally conscious design and construction. The Bridges is a demonstration model for achieving best practices in environmental, workforce and economic development sustainability.
We will explore this unique approach to matching community values for environmental sustainability and economic development through a partnership between the non-profit, public and private sectors.
