Terry Gips

Terry Gips is a national recognized sustainability leader, consultant, ecologist, agricultural economist, author (Breaking the Pesticide Habit and The Humane Consumer and Producer Guide), Minneapolis College of Art and Design Adjunct Faculty, independent Natural Step Framework (NSF) instructor and speaker.

He is the President of Sustainability Associates, which works with Fortune 500 and small and medium-sized businesses, government, communities and nonprofits to save money, improve performance and become socially and environmentally responsible through leading edge sustainability thinking, NSF training, auditing, policy, marketing, and capital formation.

He was Aveda Corporation Director of Ecological Affairs and Sustainability, Cargill economic analyst/grain merchant, Co-founder/Executive Director of the International Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, White House and Congressional aide, Wall Street brokerage assistant with Neuberger and Berman, and Co-founder/Director of the Sacramento Community Garden Program.

He volunteers as President of the Alliance for Sustainability and is a member of the Social Venture Network. He served as Co-Chair of Business for Social Responsibility--Upper Midwest, Wedge Co-op President and Founding Board member of Rancho La Puerta Spa & Resort and CERES. He completed graduate work at the University of California, Davis and Yale School of Management. He graduated from the first US Natural Step Framework Instructor Course.
