Green Cities Releases Annual Environmental & Community Impact Report for 2022

The Green Cities Company is pleased to present our Annual Environmental and Community Impact Report for the 2022 reporting year. Our Green Cities Funds are committed to investing in and managing assets that deliver strong returns while also positively enhancing local communities, tenant wellbeing, and the planet. 

This year’s report highlights the innovations and progress we made with detailed reporting through our Green Cities Index including industry-leading transparency at the portfolio, fund, and asset level. We are also pleased to detail our advanced commitment to property decarbonization with our proprietary DECARB playbook, as well as the management of scarce water resources through regenerative landscaping. The report further describes the Green Cities’ standards for using materials that protect the health of our residents – an effort we are proud to be extending to the whole industry as a Founding Member of the Owners Group of mindful MATERIALS. These initiatives, and others outlined in the report, build on our deep history of environmental and social impact leadership, as a long-time signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI), reporter under GRESB, and certified B Corporation. We are proud to contribute to our cities with the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), creating positive fiscal impacts with nearly 8 million cumulative hours of union labor and hundreds of partnerships with local, minority-, and/or women-owned businesses.
