Environment News Service Editor in Chief Sunny Lewis is a veteran journalist and broadcaster. She founded the Environment News Service in 1990 in Vancouver, British Columbia, publishing the first issue on January 1, 1990.
Born in New York City and educated at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, Ms. Lewis then moved to Vancouver. There she served as a radio news reporter and producer for 15 years with the top stations in the market, covering science, environment, education, entertainment, politics, police and the courts.
Ms. Lewis has written for many newspapers and magazines, and was the featured environment reporter on Hawaii Public Radio from 2004-2006, while continuing to publish the Environment News Service.
As ENS Editor in Chief, Ms. Lewis has developed a team of top correspondents across the United States and around the world. The daily international newswire of the environment she founded now provides news to television websites across the United States.
